Planning Application Fees Increase 17th January 2018

The Town and Country Planning (Fees for Applications, Deemed Applications, Requests and Site Visits) (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2017 will come in force on 17th January 2018 which will result in a 20% increase in planning application fees payable to Local Planning Authorities.

There will also be a new fee of £402 per 0.1 hectare for applications for planning permission in principle and a £96 fee for prior approval applications to permitted development rights, which include rights to install solar PV equipment on non-domestic buildings.

Typical planning application fees will now include:

  • Householder: £206 (previously £172)

  • Erection of dwellings (up to 50 dwellings): £462 per dwelling (previously £385 per dwelling)

  • Change of use: £462 (previously (£385)

  • Prior Approval: £96 (previously £80)
